Question: Could the use of ICT improve the English learning process in Colombia? Why?


Thesis: ICT has been used in almost all field of life and education is not an exception. Therefore,it could help meaningfully  the process of learning English in Colombia if we know how to give them the correct use.


   Support arguments: 

• Teachers should know how to give and teach students to make a correct use of ICT in the  process of learning English. 

• ICT could help teachers to make classes more interesting and motivating for students. Most of the children like technology.

Opposing argument:

• Unfortunately, most of the schools in Colombia does not count with the proper technological resources to implement ICT in classes.

Conclusion: 

• Teachers should find the way to implement ICT in classes and teach children how to make use of this helpful tool for the process of learning English.

Frankfurt School

In your blog, answer this question: How do you think Frankfurt School thoughts can be applied to today in our own culture?

I think it would be difficult trying to implement Frankfurt’s thoughts in our context, because we have not been educated for being critical about the things that surrounded us and the things every day happens all around the world.  However, it is not impossible, we can try to implement this critical theory in schools. Unfortunately, there exist some schools that try to impose their own beliefs and this is a big obstacle if you want people to develop critical thinking skills. A possible solution to this problem is trying to make students think critically in every single issue they face, we as future teachers can encourage them in our classes to make the think and reflect in specific topics that concerned the society and everyone knows about.
